things I loved about Saturday

  • It’s still the weekend!
  • Starting the day with some me time – a relaxing bath with molton brown bath foam and a neil’s yard 10 minute face mask. Perfect.
  • Checking out some amazing designs while having brunch/lunch at The Dock Kitchen with some fabulous friends – here we are on Snapshots. I totally want a wall like this at home.

  • Discovering clothes you forgot you had. It’s definitely spring now (in the UK anyway that is) so it’s never been a better time to spring clean your wardrobe. Check out Lanny’s post on how to have a happy wardrobe. Get rid of that clutter now.
  • Birthday cake at birthday parties. Hmmm, cherries.
  • Driving through the heart of London. I know that I complain about you sometimes London but you are pretty amazing!

instagram and me

I’m addicted to Instagram. The world looks better through Instagram. I look better through Instagram. You can give your photo any feel that you like – want a bit more mystery (who’s that girl?), or the vintage feel (1920s yes please) or perhaps a little more warmth (anything for a bit more sunshine). Instagram can do, well, pretty much everything.

I had a lot of fun this week but what I struggled with the most was actually including myself in the pictures. Yes, this week was supposed to be about vanity and ME but all I was taking photos of was the scenery. Once I addressed my inner critic there was no going back – as you’ve probably seen from the pictures in my flickr feed. They are all me. me. me.

While after this week I’ll cut back on taking photos of myself everywhere I’ll remember that being in a photo or two isn’t the worst thing in the world. And if nothing else my mum likes to see them.

all me. me. me.

This week’s challenge: Buy a remote control for your camera & dip your toes into the pool of narcissism.

I thought all was lost when I realised that I couldn’t buy a remote control for my camera. But actually there are plenty of ways that I can be ‘excessively preoccupied with issues of personal adequacy, power, prestige and vanity’ (thanks Wikipedia).

This week I’m going to record my life on Instagram. App now downloaded.

Watch out for more pics here.

Next week’s challenge: Call a friend & ask them if they want to have a slumber party.
